Dr. Doug Wedell

Professor at the University of South Carolina

Professor Wedell’s research focuses on how context shapes thought and action. Context is broadly defined as the cognitive and affective representations brought to mind during tasks such as reasoning, perceiving, learning, remembering, judging, and choosing. His collaborations with Dr. Shinkareva have focused on better understanding the brain basis of affective reactions to environmental stimuli. In his spare time Dr. Wedell enjoys biking, hiking, yoga, and aikido.
